Jamaica Jamaica!

My Husband and i just arrived from a much needed vacation in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was like being in PARADISE

We flew from Boston to Charlotte and then Montego Bay Jamaica for a total of about 4 1/2 hours. Immigration was quick and painless. We booked our stay at RIU All inclusive Resort which i enjoyed but don't think i will book here again. I mean don't get me wrong the food was amazing, the resort itself is beautiful, but i felt like it lacked entertainment and a few other things. The room itself was beautiful with a great view and the bathroom was modern and spacious, the beds though need major renovation.

The main thing we heard before going to Jamaica was "be careful is dangerous", I will agree that it's not too smart to go wonder alone on the island, but is definitely ok to visit tourist areas. We took a taxi from the resort we stayed in. Visited amazing sites like Columbus Park which is absolutely beautiful. Christopher Columbus first trod upon Jamaican soil at Discovery Bay. Columbus Park commemorates that momentous day in history.

I must admit i fell in love with Jamaica and can not wait to return. The island is built mostly on mountains and most of the houses are high up.. We had an amazing time touring around Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.

We really enjoyed our drive to 9 miles to the Bob Marley House and Mausolean. It was a 2 hour drive from Montego Bay and i must say, you have to be very brave to head up there. Remember i told you the city is built on mountains and we drove for about 35 min on a very narrow 2 way road which should be one way street. You do not get to see when the other car is coming and basically have to wish you make it alive lol. The Museum is where Bob lived as a child with his mother and grandparents. All his gold plaques are there and his one bed room home :)

We also visited Jimmy Buffet's famous Margaritaville Restaurant/night club. During the day is the best time to be here the night club is way TOO crowded and the music was from the 90's, not my style. During the day you can enjoy delicious Margaritas and food. There's also a fun slide that drops you right into the blue ocean... Absolutely amazing

I am already planning our 2015 trip to Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Jamaica is not only beautiful but so peaceful and the natives are pleasant and always willing to help.

Thank you so much Jamaica, see you in 2015 "YEA MON"
